| Where Are All The 'Concept' Computers?
Imagine going to one of the major car shows and, instead of seeing cool new cars, just getting to see the motors. Sigh. Anyway, Intel is pushing the idea of the teraflop computer with something called tera-scale silicon. In this case, it means continued development and testing of Intel's 80-core chip. The resulting chip has 40 times the horsepower of today's best dual-core chip. Now that should be able to do some number crunching! The company showcased these designs recently with the assertion that hundreds of projects are under way to maximize the performance of the multicore architecture. This is great, but a cool-looking box with flashing lights would get the company the attention it deserves. Meanwhile, according to reports, the company expects to ship such a processor by 2010.
New search for D.B. Cooper poor use of FBI resources
It has released new sketches and some new theories. The FBI doesn't think the man was an experienced skydiver and believes he acted alone. Ideally, every criminal would face justice, D.B. Cooper included, but the FBI's limited resources can be put to better use. The bureau has a lot more evil characters to worry about than Cooper. The Top 10 list includes men wanted for murdering their wives and children, attacking law enforcement officers and other heinous crimes. Terrorist Osama Bin Laden and notorious mobster Whitey Bulger are also on the list if the FBI is looking for some manhunts that might make a difference in the world. Maybe it's because no one was hurt or that Cooper did what no other criminal has ever done -- pull off a successful hijacking of an American airliner.

It's about 30 minutes before kick off of the Chick Fil A Bowl where Auburn will be taking on the talented Clemson Tigers. I wanted to give my quick thoughts on why I believe Auburn will win this game. 1. While Clemson has a very strong running game, Auburn has faced the tandem of McFadden & Felix Jones when they played Arkansas earlier in the season & they virtually shut down the Hogs excellent rushing attack. I don't believe the Clemson RB's to be superior to those two so I think that will be a big factor in Auburn's favor. 2. The "mystery" spread option attack. While AU certainly has not had time to install the full package due to the limited amount of practice time allowed since they hired new OC Tony Franklin, I think this unknown element will cause some defensive problems for Clemson.
Wolf shot; animal had killed cattle
Laudon is a wolf management specialist for the state Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks, and his territory ranges across miles of northwest Montana, from Canada to Interstate 90, and from Idaho to the Rocky Mountain Front. Wolf numbers, he said, are exploding there, as new packs pop up faster than biologists can keep count. .
